This is a very deep canyon that runs along the ocean floor. Its forbidden to the Mermaids on account of there being a lot of dangerous animals that live down there that would eat Mermaids in a heart beat...including a legendary sea monster, but no one has ever seen it for real, only heard legends of it. If you are brave enough, go searching for it.
